A.L.F.A. (Anonima Lombarda Fabbrica Automobili) is the name of the original company that was established on June 24, 1909. The Lombard Automobile Factory Public Company (Anonima Lombarda Fabbrica Automobili) was founded in Milan, Italy, on June 24, 1910. In 1915, a Neapolitan mathematics teacher named Nicola Romeo was given control of the factory, and it began producing military equipment.
Alfa Romeo began racing cars in 1911. Their first model, the 24-HP, won in 1910. The car was used in the Sicilian Targa Florio and then raced across Europe.
